These Terms of Service explain the rules for using Sentence.
Sentence is a reading app that helps users read books and documents one sentence at a time. Sentence is reader software. It is not a book marketplace, book store, download service, or copyrighted content library.
By using Sentence, you agree to these Terms.

2. What Sentence provides
Sentence provides reader software.
The app may include built-in public-domain or openly licensed books for demonstration and free reading.
Users may subscribe to sentence Plus, a monthly plan that gives them a higher daily translation allowance on supported books.
Sentence does not sell books, provide copyrighted book content, or give access to copyrighted libraries.
3. Your responsibility for imported files
If you import a file into Sentence, you are responsible for making sure you have the legal right to use that file.
You must not use Sentence to import, read, copy, distribute, or process files in a way that infringes copyright or other rights.
You must not use Sentence to bypass DRM, copy-protection, access controls, or other technical restrictions.
You must not use Sentence to distribute unauthorised copies of books, documents, or other content.
4. Local storage of imported files
Imported files are stored locally on your device.
Sentence does not upload imported books or documents to Sentence servers.
Because imported files are stored locally, you are responsible for keeping your own backups. If you delete browser data, app data, or local storage, your imported files, reading progress, and settings may be lost.
5. Accounts
Some features may require an account.
We may use Supabase Auth, including Google login, to provide authentication.
You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for any activity that happens through your account.
You must provide accurate information when creating or using an account.
6. Paid features
Sentence may offer paid features, including sentence Plus.
Paid features may require an account and successful payment.
Payments may be handled by Paddle. Paddle may process checkout, tax, receipts, invoices, refunds, and billing-related support.
The exact features included in a paid unlock may change over time. We may improve, rename, replace, or add features as the product develops. We will try not to remove paid functionality without a good reason.
7. Cancellation and refunds
sentence Plus is a recurring monthly subscription.
You can cancel through the Paddle customer portal or by contacting support. Cancellation stops future billing at the end of the current billing period unless local law requires otherwise.

8. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse Sentence.
You must not:
- break the law while using Sentence
- infringe copyright, trademarks, privacy rights, or other rights
- import files you do not have the right to use
- bypass DRM or copy-protection
- distribute unauthorised copies of books or documents
- attempt to interfere with the app, servers, payments, accounts, or security systems
- use Sentence to harm, abuse, harass, or exploit others
- attempt to reverse engineer, attack, scrape, or overload the service
9. Built-in books and sample content
Sentence may include built-in books and sample texts.
We aim to include only public-domain or openly licensed works. These are provided for reading and demonstration purposes.

10. Availability and changes
Sentence is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
We may update, change, pause, or discontinue parts of the app. We may also fix bugs, improve features, change the design, or alter the way content is displayed.
We will try to avoid disrupting paid features, but we cannot guarantee that the app will always be available, error-free, or compatible with every file or device.
11. File compatibility
Sentence may support importing different file types, such as TXT, Markdown, JSON, PDF, EPUB, AZW, and AZW3.
Support for some formats may be experimental or in development. Some files may not import correctly, especially if they are encrypted, DRM-protected, unusually formatted, damaged, or unsupported.
Sentence does not guarantee that every file will work.
12. Translation features
Sentence may offer sentence-by-sentence translation for supported books.
When you request a translation, only the specific sentence you choose may be sent to a third-party translation provider. Sentence does not send whole imported books or documents for translation unless we clearly state otherwise.
Translation results may be limited, delayed, unavailable, or inaccurate. We may also apply usage limits, fair use controls, or different daily allowances for free and paid users.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sentence and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, files, profits, revenue, goodwill, or business opportunities.
Because imported files are stored locally on your device, you are responsible for backing up your own files and data.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
14. Your legal capacity
You may use Sentence only if you are legally able to enter into a binding agreement in your country or region.
If you are not legally able to enter into a contract, you must not purchase paid features.

16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
If we make significant changes, we will try to provide reasonable notice, such as by updating the website or app.
