Privacy Policy

This policy explains the information used by the Sentence website and reading app. Account, reward, publishing, and wallet information is used where you choose those features.

Reading engagement

We also count aggregate reading steps on our own backend: landing visits, reading-button clicks, sample use, public-book opens, reading starts, meaningful reading, return visits and checkout milestones. General meaningful reading requires ten distinct forward steps and sixty active seconds in one public book. We group counts by entry-page category, source category and mobile or desktop layout. We do not send book text, private titles, account identifiers, full referrers or URL parameters for this measurement.

A random browser-tab session token joins these steps across pages and expires after 30 minutes of inactivity or one day. The server stores only a keyed hash of it. A keyed, daily hash of the network address limits abuse; the raw address is not stored in the measurement tables. Temporary measurement records older than two days and aggregate counts older than 90 days are removed on the next measurement request. A date stored on your device helps count returns within 30 days. We respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control for this measurement.

Website traffic

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page visits and see which sites send readers here. The public website removes query strings and fragments from the page URLs it reports. These page counts do not include book text, wallet addresses or imported files.

Books and reading data on your device

Imported books, reading progress, reader settings, and downloaded book files are primarily stored in your browser or app storage on your device. Clearing local data or removing the app may delete them.

Accounts

Sentence uses Supabase for supported sign-in methods, including email links, Google, and wallet sign-in where available. Account data may include your email address, identity-provider identifiers, or public wallet address, depending on the method you use. Sentence stores supported reading progress, eligible reading activity, earned READ reward records, and book or feature unlocks associated with your account. Session information and pending offline reading events are also stored in your browser. Signing in does not authorize a payment or token transfer.

Translation and assisted-reading services

When you request a translation or another server-assisted feature, the selected sentence and necessary request details may be sent to a third-party service provider. Full locally imported books are not intentionally uploaded merely because you read them.

Creator content

If you submit or publish writing, stories, titles, descriptions, creator profiles, prices, and related moderation records may be stored so they can be reviewed, displayed, and sold. Published information should be treated as public.

Card checkout

When you open card checkout, Privy handles your payment-wallet sign-in and wallet creation. It processes account identifiers, wallet addresses and device information. The funding provider, such as Stripe, handles the card details and any identity checks it requires. Sentence stores the payment wallet address, transaction reference and purchase record linked to your Sentence account to verify and restore access. Referral measurement

Campaign links can store approved campaign labels on this browser for up to 30 days to measure visits, public-book opens, reading engagement, and later return visits. We send only campaign labels and the site edition to Vercel Web Analytics, not passage text, imported book titles, account identifiers, or URL queries. Meaningful reading means at least 60 active seconds across five passages viewed for at least three seconds each; this is an engagement estimate, not a comprehension measure. We respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control for this measurement. Clearing browser storage removes attribution.

Wallets and blockchains

If you connect a wallet, Sentence may process the public wallet address, network, signatures, and transaction references needed for the requested action. Public blockchain activity can be viewed and analysed by anyone and cannot generally be deleted by Sentence.

Service providers and security

Sentence may use hosting, authentication, translation, infrastructure, and security providers to operate the service. We aim to minimise the information shared and use project-facing contact details in public interfaces.

Your choices

You can use basic local reading without publishing content or connecting a wallet. You can clear local app data from Settings. For account or privacy requests, contact support@readsentence.com.
